Tournament Rules

  1. Any USA (Or US Military) Adult League that follows standard American Ten Pin rules qualify. Both USBC Certified AND Non-USBC Certified Bowling Leagues qualify.
    1. You MUST be 18 years or older and NOT a USBC Youth Bowler
    2. NO-TAP Leagues do NOT qualify
    3. Your League must bowl at least three games during one League session.
    4. You MUST have a 2011 - 2012 Book Average from ANY League in the Fall/Winter season listed on USBC's website (http://www.bowl.com) with at least 21 games -- OR -- you must have at least 21 games in CURRENT season for the League you are using for entry.
    5. Your League MUST upload your league scores to LeagueSecretary.com by Tuesday at midnight for the previous weeks Tournament. See Rule 13 below for more information.
  2. You must be a ROSTER (No Substitutes) member of the League being used for the Tournament.
  3. All Tournaments run for an entire week
    1. Tournaments begin on Monday at 12:00 a.m. (PST) and end the following Sunday at 11:59 p.m. (PST).
    2. Entry Fees are due by Monday at 12:00 p.m. (PST) (noon) for the Tournament week beginning that day. Entries must be paid for prior to physically bowling.
  4. Make-up games, pre bowls, and post bowls will NOT be accepted unless they are physically bowled during the Tournament week.
  5. All Tournaments are three game sets.
    1. All Tournaments are for three games only. If your Bowling League has more than three games, then the first three games will be used towards the Tournament.
  6. Singles Tournaments
    1. If you are on multiple Leagues, you can enter MULTIPLE times (once per League per week). You may enter the same League in Singles and Doubles.
  7. Doubles Tournaments
    1. If you are on multiple Leagues, you can enter MULTIPLE times (once per League per week).
    2. You may use yourself as a Doubles Partner if you are in multiple Leagues.
    3. You must be entered into the Singles Tournament with at least one league in order to enter into the Doubles with ANY league.
  8. Handicap
    1. The Handicap is 90% of Highest Entering Average for that specific Tournament.
  9. Bonus Pins
    1. Bonus pins apply only to the Singles Tournaments.
    2. For every week that you do not win money in the Tournament itself (not including Brackets, Sidepots or Eliminators), you will receive two additional pins, which will be applied to your next Tournament Entry scores. Once you win money in the Tournament itself, your Bonus pins will be reset to zero.
    3. Your scores MUST be received in order to receive this incentive. If you have no scores, you will not receive any Bonus pins. If your entry gets disqualified for any reason, you will not receive the Bonus pins.
  10. Previous Seasons Book Average
    1. If you have a Previous Seasons Book Average from the Fall/Winter season for the League you are using for entry, then that is what we will use as your Previous Seasons Book Average for the League you are using for Entry.
    2. If you have multiple previous seasons averages from multiple leagues, then we reserve the right to use the highest previous seasons average from the Fall/Winter season for the league you are using for entry. This is usually done when the multiple averages differ by more than 10 pins from within the same center.
    3. If you DO NOT have a Previous Seasons Book Average for the League you are using for entry, then we will use the HIGHEST average with at least 21 games from ANY Fall/Winter season League as your Previous Seasons Book Average for the League you are using for Entry.
    4. If you DO NOT have ANY Previous Seasons Book Average from the 2011 - 2012 Fall/Winter season, you must have at least 21 games in CURRENT season for the League you are using for entry. In which case, we will always use your current league average.
  11. Average used for Tournament
    1. We will use your current Bowling League Average for the League you used to enter in determining your Handicap.
    2. If your Previous Seasons Book Average (as defined above) is 10 pins or more than current League Average, then we will use Previous Seasons Book Average (as defined above) in determining your Handicap.
    3. If your League utilizes Previous Seasons Book Average for the first X number of weeks of your League, we reserve the right to rerate your average to the TRUE League Average (Total pins/Total Games).
    4. We reserve the right (and we DO use this right) to rerate your Average based on current bowling ability. This is usually reviewed after a bowler has 4 consective tournament entries that were in cash winning positions.
  12. Singles Tournament Divisions
    1. There will be two Divisions:
      1. 200+ Handicap - Your applicable average based on Rule 11 for the league you are using for entry must be 200 or above.
      2. 199 and Below Handicap - Your applicable average based on Rule 11 for the league you are using for entry must be 199 or below.
    2. If you are entered into an incorrect Division and the Tournament has not yet started, you may Contact Us with your EntryID. We will withdraw your entry so that you can re-enter in the correct division.
    3. If you are entered into an incorrect Division and the Tournament has already started, we will withdraw your entry and refund your entire entry fee. Note that in this case, any Brackets that you are entered into will have the final payout of the Bracket reduced and your entry will show a "WD" (Withdrawn).
  13. Scores must be uploaded to LeagueSecretary.com by Tuesdays at 11:59 p.m. (PST) for the previous weeks Tournament.
    1. All Leagues MUST be on LeagueSecretary.com (See Rule 1.e above). We realize that some League Secretaries do not upload in a timely manner. For this reason, please obtain a copy of your Recap Sheet and Standing Sheet BEFORE you leave the bowling center the day you bowl.
    2. In the event that your League Secretary does not upload your scores in time, you may manually enter your scores and fax in your Recap Sheet and Standing Sheet.
    3. An Email will be sent on Mondays to all bowlers who do not have all the required information from the previous weeks tournament. You will have until Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. (PST) to get your info to us manually.
    4. In the event that you do need to manually enter your scores, you must fax us your Recap Sheet and Standing Sheet to 602-445-9359 with your EntryID clearly written on the fax. You may also scan and email your information to angela@nabso.com.
    5. DO NOT ALTER YOUR RECAP SHEET IN ANY WAY. Altering of your Recap Sheet will result in immediate Disqualification.
    6. If we receive your information after Tuesday at 11:59pm for the previous weeks Tournament, your scores will not be accepted.
    7. If the league stops uploading completely (3 consecutive weeks without uploading at all), then the league will no longer be eligible to be part of the Tournament. In order to be eligible again, the league will need to start uploading again and will need to upload all missing weeks.
    8. It is the bowlers responsibility to ensure we receive all the necessary information, either uploaded by your League Secretary or manually entered on VirtualTournaments.com in the event your League Secretary does not get their info uploaded in time.
  14. Physical Printout of Scores
    1. If you are the League Secretary of the League, we will require a copy of the physical printout of each of the games bowled for you and your Team.
  15. 1 in every 5 Bowlers will win, rounded down
  16. In the event of a Tie
    1. In the event of a tie, all positions that are involved in the tie will have their alotted amount totaled and split between all the tied entrants. For example, if 2 entrants occupy 3rd place, then the payout will be the sum of 3rd and 4th place divided by two, for each entrant involved in the tie.
  17. In order to receive a check payout, you must be willing to provide your Social Security Number
    1. Before you receive a check payout, you must provide your Social Security Number. By law, we must have this in order to issue you a check. Visit our W9 Page for more information.
  18. False Information
    1. Fraud will not be tolerated. Any fraudulent activity will be dealt with accordingly. Any entry fee or prize money will be forfeited. There will be NO REFUNDS.
  19. Once the Tournament starts, you are committed to the Tournament
    1. There are NO REFUNDS once the Tournament starts.
    2. We reserve the right to cancel any Tournament at any time, however, in this event, we will refund all Tournament entries for that specific Tournament.

  20. Other
    1. We reserve the right to refuse entry into the Tournaments.
    2. We reserve the right to require a physical print-out of your scores. In this case, we will notify you in advance.
    3. We reserve the right to rerate your Average based on current bowling ability. You will be notified of any rerate before the Tournament starts.
