TOURNAMENT RULES



 
RULES
  1. Adult, USBC Certified Bowling Leagues ONLY
    1. Overseas Military Leagues are accepted provided they are USBC Certified.
    2. NO-TAP Leagues do NOT qualify
    3. If you are entering ANY of our Handicap Tournaments, you MUST have a 2006 - 2007 or 2007 - 2008 Book Average from ANY League listed on http://www.bowl.com with at least 36 games. If you do not, you must have at least 36 games in current season. See Rule #8 below for more information.
  2. You must be a ROSTER (No Substitutes) member of the League being used for the Tournament
  3. All Tournaments run for an entire week
    1. Tournaments begin on Monday at 12:00 a.m. (MST) and end the following Sunday at 11:59 p.m. (MST).
  4. You must physically bowl during your scheduled League night.
    1. Make-up games, pre bowls, post bowls will NOT be accepted unless they are still done during the Tournament week.
  5. All Tournaments are three game sets
    1. All Tournaments are for three games only. If your Bowling League has more than three games, then the first three games will be counted towards the Tournament.
  6. Singles Tournament
    1. ENTRIES
      1. You can enter MULTIPLE times in any division (Scratch or Handicap) per week, however, each division entry must come from a different League. In otherwords, you can use League A and B in Handicap AND use League A and B in Scratch.
    2. HANDICAP
      1. Handicap will be 100% of 235

      3. Handicap will be 90% of 235
    3. SCRATCH
      1. Two Divisions
        1. OPEN - All bowlers can enter
        2. 210 and Below. Your current League Average MUST BE 210 or below
        3. Entries with current League Average of 211 or more WILL be disqualified and NO REFUND will be issued.
      2. You may enter BOTH the "Open Division" and the "210 and Below Division" if your average is 210 or below
      3. This is a 100% Scratch Division - no Handicap is provided.

  7. Doubles Tournament
    1. ENTRIES
      1. You can enter MULTIPLE times in the Doubles Tournament per week. However, each entry must be different by either using a different League, or a different Partner.
      2. You may use yourself as a Doubles Partner if you are in multiple Leagues
    2. AVERAGE
      1. Team average in effect (Average of bowler 1 plus average of bowler 2)
    3. HANDICAP
      1. Handicap will be 100% of 470

      2. EFFECTIVE 06/01/2008:
      3. Handicap will be 90% of 470

    5. The person who initiates the Doubles Tournament entry is the one that pays. It is up to them to collect the money from the partner.
    6. Bowlers will split payouts 50/50.
    7. Doubles scores will NOT appear until BOTH partner’s results are in.
    8. It is advisable to check with the person you are partnering up with to ensure that they will be bowling AND submitting scores.
    9. ADDITIONAL PIN INCENTIVE WILL NOT APPLY TO THE DOUBLES TOURNAMENT.
  8. AVERAGE
      SCRATCH TOURNAMENTS:
    1. There are no minimum game restrictions or previous season book average restrictions if you are entering the Scratch Division.


    2. HANDICAP TOURNAMENTS:
    3. You MUST have a 2006 - 2007 or 2007 - 2008 Book Average from ANY League listed on http://www.bowl.com with at least 36 games. If you do not, you must have at least 36 games in current season. If neither apply, you will be rated with a 235 average for previous seasons average.
    4. If you DO NOT have a 2006 - 2007 or 2007 - 2008 Book Average listed on http://www.bowl.com from the League you are using for entry, then we will use the HIGHEST 2006 - 2007 or 2007 - 2008 Book Average from any League as the baseline for your previous seasons average.
    5. If you DO have a 2006 - 2007 or 2007 - 2008 Book Average listed on http://www.bowl.com from the League you are using for entry, then we will use that average as the baseline for your previous seasons average.
    6. We will use the League average that is printed on your recap sheet for the week entered in determining your Handicap.
    7. If your "rated" previous seasons average is 10 pins or more than current League Average, then the previous seasons average will be used.
    8. We reserve the right to rerate averages based on current bowling ability.
  9. Additional Pins Incentive
    1. Applies to the Singles Handicap Division only.
    2. DOES NOT APPLY TO BRACKETS, SIDEPOTS or ELIMINATORS
    3. For every week that you do not win a cash prize, and are entered as a paid entrant, you will receive two additional pins, which will be applied to your next Tournament Entry scores. Once you win a cash prize in the Tournament, your incentive is reset to zero.
    4. Your scores MUST be entered in order to receive this incentive and your Recaps and Standings MUST be received. If you have no scores, you will not receive any additional pins. If your entry gets disqualified for any reason, you will not receive the additional pins.
  10. Entry Fees are due BEFORE the beginning of the Tournament
    1. Tournaments begin on Mondays at 12:00AM. All entries must be received by 12:00pm EST on Mondays.
  11. Scores must be posted and information sent to us in time for our staff to verify your scores
    1. Bottom Line: Get your scores in ASAP so we have time to verify your scores. If we cannot verify your scores due to lack of time (3 business days), then your entry may be disqualified.
    2. All Tournaments end on Sundays. In order for us to have time to verify all entries, we must have all information including scores, recaps and standings by Tuesday at 11:59pm for the Tournament that just ended the previous Sunday.
    3. If we receive your information after the above stated time, YOUR SCORES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
    4. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE YOUR SCORES GET TO US EITHER THRU LEAGUESECRETARY.COM OR MANUALLY ENTERED ON OUR SITE.
    5. If you know that your League Secretary uploads all the data to LeagueSecretary.com in a timely fashion, then you should not have any problems. HOWEVER, it is suggested that you enter your own scores and FAX IN YOUR RECAPS AND STANDINGS just in case.
    6. Fax your recaps and standings to our Primary fax line at 1-815-301-1857 or our Secondary fax line at 1-602-445-9359.
    7. MAKE SURE YOUR ENTRYID IS ON THE FAX. Faxes without an EntryID will NOT be processed.
    8. You may also email a scanned copy of your recaps and standings to angela@nabso.com
    9. Recaps MUST be signed by both Team Captains. In the event there is not another Team Captain, then the League Secretary must sign in their place.
    10. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ENTRY ID, DO NOT ALTER OR WRITE ON YOUR RECAPS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM AFTER the Team Captains have signed them. ALTERED RECAPS ARE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.
  12. Scores will be verified with the Bowling Center
    1. Scores for the cash payout winners will be verified with the Bowling Center and/or League Secretary (in some cases BOTH) prior to prize distribution. Other scores will be randomly verified. The bowler is to inform the Center and League Secretary that they are participating in a Virtual Bowling Tournament and that the Center or League Secretary may be called to confirm scores. Should the Center or League Secretary refuse to confirm the scores, the bowlers entry will be disqualified and no refund will be issued.
  13. False Information
    1. Fraud will not be tolerated. Any fraudulent activity will be dealt with accordingly. Any entry fee or prize money will be forfeited. There will be NO REFUND and legal action will be brought up against the bowler/person that committed the fraud.
  14. Once your payment is received, you are committed to the Tournament
    1. There are NO REFUNDS once your payment is received.
    2. To keep the Tournament fair and to prevent people from faking an illness when they may have bowled poorly, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
    3. NABSO Reserves the right to cancel any Tournament at any time, however, in this event, NABSO will refund all Tournament entries for that specific Tournament.

  15. 1:5 Bowlers will cash, rounded up
    1. 1 in 5 bowlers will cash, rounded up.
  16. In the event of a Tie
    1. In the event of a tie, all positions that are involved in the tie will have their allotted amount totaled and split between all the tied entrants. For example, if 2 entrants occupy 3rd place, then the payout will be the sum of 3rd and 4th place divided by two, for each entrant involved in the tie.
  17. Bowlers must be willing to provide Social Security Number
    1. Before you receive any payment from winning a Tournament, you must provide your Social Security Number. By law, we must have this in order to issue you a check. Click here for more information.
  18. Other
    1. We reserve the right to refuse entry into the Tournaments. This has been done in the past, however, it is in extreme rare cases.
